The usual mistake is waiting until you are too busy to explain the job. Hand over early, while you still have time to train.

The work

What a virtual assistant actually takes off you.

Virtual assistant, executive assistant, personal assistant, admin support, back-office help. The job title matters less than the list of things you keep meaning to get to.

Inbox and diary

Sorting what matters from what does not, booking and moving meetings, and making sure you arrive at each one knowing who you are talking to.

Executive and personal assistant work

Travel, expenses, board papers, follow-ups from meetings and the quiet chasing that keeps a senior person's commitments from slipping.

Data entry, records and back-office work

Keeping your CRM, spreadsheets and systems current, which nobody enjoys and everybody needs, done properly rather than in a panic once a quarter.

Operations and process admin

Onboarding paperwork, supplier chasing, order processing and the hundred small steps between a customer saying yes and being properly set up.

Research and reporting

Pulling together the information you need before a decision, and the weekly report you currently build yourself on a Friday evening.

Customer and supplier follow-up

The emails and calls that need to happen but keep sliding down your list, handled on your behalf and in your tone of voice.

Choosing a country

Which country for a virtual assistant?

Admin work is the most flexible of all the roles we staff, so for most clients the choice comes down to hours and budget.

The Philippines
The usual choice, and the best value

A very large pool of experienced Filipino assistants with clear, neutral English and years of practice supporting Australian, US and UK businesses. For most clients looking for a virtual assistant, this is where we start.

Be honest with yourself

What to hand over first, and what to keep.

Hand this over

Right for an assistant

Anything you do the same way every week
Work with a clear right and wrong answer
Chasing, booking and following up
Jobs you are putting off because they are dull
Keep this

Still your own job

Decisions only you have the context for
Anything that commits money without a limit
Difficult conversations with your own staff
Work you have never written down

The one habit that decides whether this works: record a short screen video the first time you explain a task. Our assistants build their own written process from it, and you never explain it twice.

Questions

Hiring a virtual assistant: your questions answered.

Ours is one named person, employed full time or part time, working only for you and your hours. They are not juggling five other clients, and if they are ill or leave, that is our problem to solve rather than yours. We handle the employment, the payroll and the local compliance.
Myanmar on value, and it is better than its reputation: university-educated assistants who stay for years. The Philippines has the deepest pool, which is why a Filipino virtual assistant is the most common arrangement. South Africa if the role is client-facing or needs UK hours. Myanmar if value matters and you want someone who will still be with you in three years.
Yes. Many clients start at twenty hours a week and move to full time once they have found enough to hand over, which usually happens faster than they expect.
Yes. We pick the country so that your working day falls inside a normal working day for them, which is why people stay in the role rather than burning out on a night shift.
The same way you would for an employee: your own accounts with the permissions you choose, ideally through a password manager, and access limited to what the job needs. We can talk through a sensible setup.
Then start part time, or share the role across two jobs, for example admin in the morning and bookkeeping in the afternoon. We would rather build the right size role than oversell you one.
A one-time setup fee, a monthly Linkers fee and the salary. Admin roles are at the lower end of our salary ranges. Build an estimate on our pricing page and we will confirm it in writing.
We assign a different team member free of charge within the first three months, and help with the handover so the work does not pile up again.

Tell us the three jobs you most want off your plate.

That is usually enough for us to say which country suits, whether it is a part-time or full-time role, and what it costs.
